Strategic partnership addresses lack of interoperability and cumbersome data retrieval
March 2, 2018, Alpharetta, GA – Philips Wellcentive and Holon Solutions today announced a strategic partnership that will directly surface meaningful patient insights into providers’ EHRs to allow them to make more informed decisions at the point of care.
The combined strengths of these solutions address two major limitations in electronic health data exchange: interoperability and ease of use. The result is a solution that provides clinicians with automatic, holistic information within their workflow while their patients are still in their office.
“We’re excited that this partnership addresses the crippling lack of interoperability and the cumbersome information retrieval processes that currently characterize healthcare data. Clinicians need and deserve solutions that facilitate, not thwart, patient care,” said Niki Buchanan, Philips PHM business leader.
Bryant Castleton, CEO of Holon Solutions, added, “We think of Holon as an enabler in healthcare. We tap providers on the shoulder and let them know there’s information outside the EHR about the patient in front of them that could impact the care they deliver. Philips Wellcentive’s ability to provide that information and our ability to deliver it in the workflow will significantly increase the knowledge providers have at their fingertips.”
Philips Wellcentive’s comprehensive population health management (PHM) platform, which was rated a top-five solution for comprehensive data aggregation by KLAS in its November, 2017 PHM report, has enabled providers to aggregate and act on data from disparate EHRs for more than a decade. Today, it processes up to 400 million data points a day to facilitate care for more than 40 million patients, while enabling customers to secure more than $700 million in value-based care payments each year.
Holon surfaces important patient data within the provider’s workflow. The company’s patent-pending technology senses when a patient’s chart is opened in the EHR and retrieves relevant information from other data sources using a bi-directional delivery mechanism. It then delivers non-intrusive, real-time alerts that can identify gaps in care, coding and risk adjustment opportunities, patient eligibility and benefits, specific metrics required by different value-based contracts, and more. This eliminates the need for providers to hunt for data that drives optimal patient outcomes and financial performance.
